Abstract

The destruction of Islam has historically been a central objective for many Orientalists, who have long sought to undermine its core principles. Orientalists, including monks, priests, pastors, and scholars, meticulously crafted narratives that emphasized the importance of dismantling Islam and its teachings. Their relentless pursuit of this goal led them to resort to falsehoods, deception, fraud, and slander, employing any means necessary to fulfill their agenda. Their primary target was the Quran, the fundamental source of Islam’s strength. Despite numerous attempts to attack the Quran, their efforts have been futile. The protection and preservation of the Quran were ultimately entrusted to Allah, rendering all efforts to distort or destroy it unsuccessful. Even after centuries of such destructive endeavors, the Quran remains unchanged—down to the smallest diacritic. Orientalists were compelled to acknowledge this fact. However, their attempts to undermine the Quran have not ceased. Frustrated by their failure, they have shifted their focus to other methods of challenging Islam, often resorting to arbitrary interpretations of the Quran in an attempt to further their agenda. This paper critically examines the objections raised by Orientalists regarding the journey of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to Syria, analyzing their methods and motivations.
